As part of activities marking the 40th Anniversary and 32nd Convocation Ceremony, the Federal University of Technology, Akure, FUTA Alumni Association Worldwide has organized 2021 Alumni Lecture.
The Chief of Staff to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, Chief Olugbenga Ale who is a member of the alumni delivered a lecture entitled, “Alumni Association, A Replica of Family Affairs”.
At the well attended event, the Chief of Staff equally bagged award of Diamond Alumni which is FUTA highest award given to any alumnus of the institution.
Chief Ale described Alumni Association as a family with a common goal to cater for the father and mother which is the Alma Mater.
The gathering of the alumni body of the University was to celebrate enviable academic traditions and culture which the institution represents and whose major objectives are to fulfill specific purpose in the society.
While delivering his lecture, Chief Ale emphasized that Alumni Associations are assets to the Alma Mater and to individual members whose contribution and involvement have significantly increased the fortune of their Alma Mater.
He said the impact of Alumni Association would only be better felt when paraded in the larger society as a worthy product of an institution, saying they represent the framework of enviable academic traditions and culture which the institutions portray to the society at large.
The Chief of Staff admonished the Alumni Association to strengthen the development of the state and the country saying they can be social model of unity of the society and factor for economic growth and development.
He therefore charged the Alumni Family to see themselves as one with the common goal to cater for the development of the institution and society large.
