The Chairman of Ilaje Local Government area of Ondo State, Mr. Maurice Oripenaiye, has commended Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for what he described as the governor’s genuine commitment to the welfare of the traditional council in the state.
In a statement issued by his Media Assistant, Taiwo Sadare, the chairman described the presentation of utility vehicles to traditional rulers across the state as a fulfilment of the governor’s manifesto and appealed for the continued support of the royal fathers.
Describing the gesture as a demonstration of sincerity and concern for the traditional institution, Oripenaiye noted that the vehicles would not only enable the monarchs to discharge their duties effectively, but also enhance community engagement in their respective domains.
He expressed gratitude to the governor, adding that the presentation had further shown that Governor Aiyedatiwa is a caring leader, displaying genuine love and respect for the traditional council.
The Ilaje council boss also acknowledged the pivotal roles played by traditional rulers in the state, especially in the areas of security, peace and unity at the grassroots, noting that the Governor holds all traditional leaders in high esteem.
He explained that the efficiency and dedication of the royal fathers may have motivated the governor to provide the vehicles, and urged them to reciprocate the gesture by continuing to support the administration and ensuring its success.
While reiterating the governor’s commitment to sustaining support for traditional rulers, Oripenaiye praised the monarchs for fostering peace and harmony in their various communities.
Appreciating the governor on behalf of traditional rulers in Ilaje and other parts of the state, the chairman stressed the need for them to cooperate continuously with the government, noting that such collaboration would facilitate greater development and progress in Ondo State.
He added that beyond the statutory five per cent derivation, Governor Aiyedatiwa would continue to initiate programmes and policies aimed at improving the welfare of the people across their various domains.
