A 20-year-old apprentice, Josiah Godwin has been remanded at Olokuta Correctional centre for allegedly killing his master and dumping his corpse inside Well.
The defendant who was arraigned at Akure Magistrates’ Court for alleged murder, committed the offence sometimes in February, 2023 at Imafon Community, Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo state.
The prosecutor, Inspector Folasade Adeyemi told the court that the defendant hacked his master, Savior Joseph, and dumped his corpse in a well.
She said the offences contravene Sections 269 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 37 Volume 1 Laws of Ondo State Nigeria, 2006.
The prosecutor prayed the court to remand pending the issuance of legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The defense counsel, Friday Adeoye did not object the remand application by the prosecutor.
In his ruling, Magistrate Idowu Mayowa ordered the remand of the defendant at Olokuta Correctional centre and thereafter adjourned the case till March 17, 2023 for legal advice.
