Court remands hunter over alleged murder

A 45-year-old man, Adebisi Babatunde, has been remanded in prison by an Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court for allegedly killing a lady with gun.
The accused person was said to have committed the offence on April 2, 2019 at about 9:55 pm at Oke- Bode Area, Modakeke-Ife.
The prosecutor, Inspector Glory Ona, alleged that the accused person shot one Temilola Oduwole with a gun.
The offence contravened sections 316 and 319 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The Chief Magistrate, Olukunle Owolawi, pointed out that his court lacks jurisdiction to try murder cases.
He, therefore, ordered the remand of the accused person in Ile-Ife prison pending his arraignment in the appropriate court.
The case was adjourned till April 30, 2019 for mention.
