Court remands man for allegedly killing mother in Osun

An Osogbo Magistrates’ Court in Osun State has ordered the remand of one Jimoh Taofeek at the Ilesa Correctional Facility Centre for allegedly killing his mother.
Presiding Magistrate, Mr. O. Olatunji, issued the remand order due to the severity of the alleged offence.
Taofeek was arraigned by the Nigeria Police Force on a one-count charge of murder.
According to the Police Prosecutor, ASP Fatoba Temitope, the incident occurred on February 19, 2025 at about 8:00 p.m. in the Oke-Ola area of Osogbo.
He told the court that the defendant pushed his mother, Taibat Jimoh, to the ground during a disagreement, which subsequently led to her death.
Temitope stated that the offence is contrary to Section 319 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol. II, Laws of Osun State, 2002.
The defendant had no legal representation at the time of the court appearance.
The matter was adjourned until June 17 for mention
