Court remands man for stealing phone

A 28-year-old man, Imole Ogunmakinwa, has been arraigned before an Odigbo Chief Magistrate Court over an alleged stealing.

Men of the Ondo State Police Command arraigned the defendant before Chief Magistrate D. O Ogunfuyi, on a count charge of stealing.

The prosecution  said the defendant committed the offence on September, 2023 in Ore, Ondo State.

According to the charge sheet, the defendant fraudulently stole one Spark 10 pop Android phone valued at  N120,000, property of one Akinmi Deborah and converted it to his own use.

The offence contravenes Section 383(1) of the Criminal, Code Cap. 37, Volume 1 Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.

The defendant who had no legal representation, pleaded guilty for the offence leveled against him, when the charge was read.

Chief Magistrate D. O. Ogunfuyi ordered the defendant to be remanded at the Okitipupa Correctional Centre and adjourned the case till December 13, 2023 for fact and sentence.
