Court remands man for threatening Judge

A 30-year-old man, Tajudeen Rabiu has been remanded by an Osogbo Magistrate Court for alleged burglary and threat to life.
The accused person also known as ‘spanner’ was said to have committed the offence on June 5, 2019 around 9:30pm at Block 36, GRA in Osogbo.
The prosecutor, John Idoko said the accused person and others still at large conspired and forcefully entered the house of a senior Magistrate, Mrs Habibat Bashiru.
He said the accused person who was armed with broken bottle violently demanded the sum of N100,000 from Bashiru.
The accused person who was not legally represented pleaded not guilty to the five-count charge of felony, threat to life and breach of peace levied against him.
The offence committed contravened sections 516, 411, 406, 509, 86 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol 11 Laws of Osun State, 2002.
Idoko prayed the court to remand the accused person in order not to prevent him repeating the act, ;stressing that the security of the area was being threatened.
The magistrate, Mr Olusegun Ayilara remanded the accused person at Ilesa prison, and adjourned the case till June 14, 2019 for ruling.
