A 31-year-old-man, Emeka Joseph, has been remanded in Segede Correctional Centre by an Ondo Chief Magistrate Court sitting at Oka for alleged robbery.
The defendant was brought before the Magistrate, Mrs Charity Adeyanju on a two-count charge of conspiracy and robbery.
According to the prosecution, the defendant and others at large committed the offences on September 9, 2023, at about 8:45 p.m. at Arigbabola Road, Ondo, in the Ondo State Magisterial District.
The defendant and others at large were alleged to have robbed one Ajao Surajudeen, the rider of one TVS motorcycle with chassis number: MD625NF52M1AA1443 valued at N290,000, property of one Adebisi Abiola.
He was later arrested by the police.
The offences contravene Section 402(1) of the Criminal Code Cap 37 Vol 1 Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria 2006.
The plea of the defendant was not taken when the charge was read to him.
The prosecutor, Bernard Olagbayi prayed the court to remand the defendant in prison custody pending advice from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), in Akure.
The Magistrate ordered that the case file should be sent to the office of the Ondo state Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice.
Adeyanju adjourned the case till November 2, 2023, for advice from the office of the DPP.
