Court remands Prophet for duping man seeking ‘spiritual help’

A 32-year-old Prophet, Olajide Omolere, has been remanded by an Osogbo Magistrate’s Court for allegedly obtaining N1.1 million from a businessman to solve his spiritual problems.
The accused person was charged with three counts of conspiracy, theft and fraud.
The prophet allegedly committed the offence between November and December 2020.
The Police prosecutor, ASP John Idoko, told the court that the accused person conspired with others still at large and defrauded a businessman, Fatai Sadiku, of the sum of N 1.1 million.
He alleged that the accused person collected the money in order to perform a ”spiritual cleansing” for Sadiku’s business to grow.
The offence committed contravened Sections 422, 419, 516, and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol.11, laws of Osun, 2002.
