Court remands two brothers, over alleged car theft

An Osogbo Magistrates’ court has remanded three armed robbery suspects for allegedly stealing a car.
The suspects are; Folayan Olasanmi, 39; and two siblings, Sola, 34 and Babatunde Adedayo, 49.
The trio and others still at large, while allegedly armed with guns and other dangerous weapons, robbed Idowu Abdulganiyu of his Lexus car with number plate LAGOS LSR 42 FR, valued at N3.5million at about 9:30pm at Dada Estate area of Osogbo on March 16, 2019.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Kayode Adeoye told the court that the suspects also made away with two iPhones, a car battery, three pairs of shoes, one power bank, car receipts, drivers’ licence, and other documents.
The offence contravened section 6(b) and punishable under sections 1(I) and 1(1)(2)(a)(b) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provision) Act, Cap RII, Vol. 14, Laws of Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
The Magistrate, Rofiat Olayemi, directed that the exhibits and the case file be forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) in the state.
She remanded the three accused persons in Ilesa prison custody pending the DPP legal advice.
The case was adjourned till July 15, 2019 for mention.
