COVID-19: Don, student donate nose masks, sanitisers to varsity

No fewer than 750 plastic face shields were donated by a Don, Dr Vincent Akpoveta to Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa, Ondo State.
Dr. Vincent Akpoveta, Department of Chemical Sciences, at the institution, said the gesture was part of his widow’s mite towards preventing the global pandemic among members of the university community.
Meanwhile, the institution has declared total adherence and enforcement to the COVID-19 guidelines since it’s resumption on January 18, in order to curtail the spread of the disease.
Similarly, Olashile Adekoya, a 400 level student of Industrial Chemistry of the institution also donated about 100 cloth face masks, 100 sanitisers and liquid soap of 50cl respectively to the school.
Adekoya also said that it was his contribution to support the institution in the fight against the spread of COVID-19.
In his reaction, Mr Babarinde Moriyole, the Principal Assistant Registrar of the institution said the donation was timely. He thanked the donors for their gestures in supporting the institution in the fight against the spread of COVID-19, saying that the donations would be distributed judiciously.
Moriyole, urged students and staff of the institution to observe the COVID-19 safety guidelines saying it is for their own benefits.
