English Premiership and Spanish League fans in Ondo State yesterday had their jubilation over the resumption of the leagues cut short as the state government banned all viewing centers till further notice.
The Governor of the State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu during the weekly COVID-19 briefing at the government house gave the directive as a measure to curb the community transmission of the dreaded coronavirus pandemic in the state.
According to the Governor,” Ondo state has recorded a total number of 19 new active cases of COVID-19 in the last 12 days.
“This is against the 24 cases announced as at 27th May when I addressed you. These additional 19 new cases added up to make a total of 43 cases.”
Laliga and EPL had few weeks ago announced June 11 and 17 for the resumption of their respective leagues.
