Covid-19: Olowo sensitizes subjects
From Jimoh Ahmed, Owo.
In his determination to prevent the spread of the ravaging corona virus disease in his domain, the Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III, has resorted to the use of a town crier to assist in the sensitization of the people of the kingdom in local language on the dangers inherent in not following all the spelt out measures to prevent the spread of the dreaded disease in the area.
The town crier who had since commenced the job, has been able to reach some areas and will continue until he is able to cover the whole kingdom.
Oba Ogunoye charged the town crier to harp more on environmental cleanliness, personal hygiene and hand washing and the need to follow government’s directive on the virus.
It would be recalled that, Oba Ogunoye, at the weekend suspended indefinitely the sitting of the traditional Alternative Dispute Resolution Meeting (Ugbema Aleli).
The suspension was not unconnected with the fact that, one of the preventive measures which states that convergence of people more than 50 in number was stipulated as vital.
