COVID-19: Ooni donates motorized modular fumigators to Ondo

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Eniitan Ogunwusi, yesterday donated two Motorised Modular (MM) fumigators to the Ondo state government as part of his support to combat the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

Oba Adewusi while presenting the machine equipment to governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu at the Government House Grounds, Akure, stated that COVID-19 was real and that all hands must be on deck to provide solutions to the virus.

The traditional ruler also provided a fumigator-drone to the state government for a period of time.

The machine was an initiative of House of Oduduwa Machine Tools, and a homegrown effort to combat Coronavirus pandemic

The monarch challenged Nigerians to come up with ideas which could help stem the Covid-19 pandemic, instead of criticism of other ideas.

“I am leading by example for every other person to know that Covid-19 is real. We cannot continue to rest on our oars.

“We have to look for solution internally, solution within ourselves that can take this nation to another level.

“We are all fond of abusing our leaders, talking down on them. What are you doing to contribute your own quota to the system” the monarch asserted.

He also commended the governor for his various efforts aimed at putting smiles of the faces of the people of the state, describing the governor as lover of his people.

Responding, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, thanked the front line monarch for his kind gesture, just as he applauded him for his interest at developing the South West region and the nation at large.

According to him, it is a thing of joy for such a person like Ooni of Ife to support the state and others to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.

“You are interested in Ondo state and we all know. You are a wonderful king and we all know that. We are very appreciative sir, Kabiyesi”, the governor stressed.

He further expressed interest in acquiring more motorized modular fumigators for the state.

The governor who expressed hope that very soon the virus would be a thing of the past, also advised the residents to abide by the rules in place to prevent the spread of deadly Coronavirus.
