COVID-19: Osun assembly suspends activities

Osun State House of Assembly has suspended legislative activities for two weeks in order to curtail the spread of coronavirus at the Assembly complex.
Chairman, House Committee on Media and publicity, Kunle Akande who disclosed this yesterday said that the short recess became necessary to enable legislators take a break from the rigor of long legislative activities.
He also stated that it would enable members assist their Constituents in Post- COVID-19 efforts geared at making their lives better.
Akande stressed that the Assembly, under the leadership of the speaker, Mr Timothy Owoeye is in strict compliance with world Health Organisation (WHO) and State Government protocols on the containment of the House of Assembly Complex.
He added that members of the Assembly underscore the importance of the Legislature in a democratic setting, “we have allowed essential administrative work and personnel to run upon disinfection of the premises.”
He advised the people of the state to consider using the recently deployed e- parliament platform in getting across to the Assembly.
