All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have continued to trade blames on the various political attacks happening in the State.
While the APC said that PDP thugs were the ones causing trouble after the present administration took over power, the PDP on their part accused the opposition of orchestrating violence to frustrate the government of Ademola Adeleke.
A statement issued by the media Director of APC, Mr Kola Olabisi alleged that some thugs of PDP were recently celebrating the redeployment of Osun State Police Commissioner, Faleye Olaleye, and embarked on indiscriminate attack on opposition members.
According to the Statement, “the ugly scenes that are stranger than friction in Osun State are the situations whereby the political thugs loyal to the ruling party, PDP, were celebrating the transfer of CP Faleye Olaleye .
” Pockets of political hoodlums were sighted along the streets in Osogbo, the state capital chanting anti-Olaleye songs .”
The Ekiti born police boss who relatively spent two months in Osun State was described as a no- nonsense, intelligent, brilliant police officer whose short stay in the state witnessed unprecedented caging of criminals.
The hurried transfer of the police commissioner according to ACP spokesman was tele- guided and orchestrated by powers in the political circle of Osun who were not comfortable with the manner the police have tamed criminality.
However, reacting to the allegation by opposition party (APC), the Director of Media of PDP, Olabamiji Oladele in a statement described the allegation as mere propaganda and campaign of calumny.
Olabamiji hinted that no PDP member within Osogbo, the state capital or any part of the State was involved in such.
We suspect this report as part of new campaign of calumny engineered by defeated forces of yesterday to malign the new administration in the state,” the statement concluded.
