‘Creation of LCDAs ‘ll bring devt to grassroots’

The Council of Traditional Rulers in Odigbo Local Government has drum its support for Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in his quest to create Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the state.

Chairman of the council, the Ajobu of Araromi Obu, Oba Aderemi Adelola said the project will bring development to the people, especially at the grassroots and further expose their cultural heritage.

The Hope reports that Odigbo local government have proposed for the creation 10 of Local Council Development Areas out of the present council area namely; Furupagha-Ijaw, Araromi, Araromi-Ayesan, Ufara, Ore, Araromi Ajebamidele, Onisere/Ebijaw/Agbabu and New Ifesowapo.

Oba Adelola said, “the exercise is a welcome development. We have been agitating for it since 1995, thank God the Governor in his wisdom has taken the bold step towards actualising our dreams.”

Also the Olore of Ore, Oba Johnson Olatomide expressed confidence in the vision and integrity of the Akeredolu-led government adding that the creation of LCDAs in Odigbo will help in taping hidden raw materials for the benefit of the area and the state.

According to the Lisa of Araromi Obu, High Chief Tola Akintemi, the proposed LCDAs will bring government closer to the people at the grassroots, and development to their door steps.

He urged the government and relevant stakeholders to cooperate to enable the committee achieve its aims.
