Governments have  been charged to appoint the right people to draft subjects  curriculums for schools in the country.

A retired public school principal ,who is the current headmaster of Omolere Primary School, Akure,  Mr Toye Bamikole stated this in a chat with The Hope.

He opined that if educationists with vast experience  are appointed to draft the curriculum, it will contain the necessary ingredients that will further enhance teaching and learning.

According to him, education can equally be enhanced through adequate provision of teachers to each school, adding that students should not be too many in a class for a teacher to teach and control.

He noted that changing of reading books every year must be discouraged  ,stressing that unified text books should be adopted by all schools as it was in the past.

In another development, the Principal of St Michael’s Catholic High School ,Mr  A. O Rabiu called on government at all levels to give subvention to schools in order to ensure effective service delivery.

He affirmed that even though students have been paying P. T. A and government levies which are meant for minor infrastructural development and conduction of end of the term examinations among others, there are more to do in the schools to make it conducive for teaching and learning.

“Facilities such as laboratories, libraries, health centers among others, need to be put in place  in schools to achieve the set goals in the education sector”, he stated.

He maintained that if schools environments are conducive, education will be enhanced, while government will be able to employ more teachers.
