Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has approved the appointment of Tayo Oluwatuyi as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG).

The Governor also approved the appointment of Mr. Abayomi Olasanya as the Chief of Protocol.

According to a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, both appointments take immediate effect.

Meanwhile, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Chairman of Ondo State Water Corporation, Mr. Dapo Filani, has lauded Governor Aiyedatiwa for nominating an Owo-born technocrat, Dr. Olayide Owolabi Adelami as his deputy.

He also applauded the appointment of an Akure-born politician, Tayo Oluwatuyi as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).

Filani, a public affairs commentator, described their appointments as a round peg in a round hole, adding that the governor has started well.

According to him, the choice of Adelami as the Deputy Governor is not for Owo people alone, but the entire people of Ondo State.

“He is an excellent personality. You only need to see him to know the humility in him, and all the descriptions you have to know about him. When he was in the National Assembly as a Deputy Clerk, he had pushed so much for Ondo State.

“A lot of people from Ondo State are working in the National Assembly today through him. He has so much sympathy for unemployed and the poor, and people that are distressed. So, the choice is not for Owo people, it is for the people of Ondo State. Although Owo people may think it is a sort of compensation for them. They will know that the governor is not far from them.

” The late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu invested so much in national politics, and we all knew his roles. Today, someone from Owo is made the deputy governor. Owo lost so much, no doubt about that, this is just a little bit of compensation for Owo people.

“Adelami has no blemish, whether in Ondo State or anywhere in the country. He is a highly welcomed person, full of humility and full of ideas. Above all, he is honest.
