The Peoples Democratic Movement, PDM Ondo State chapter has said that the decision by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to deregister political parties would prevent new breed politicians to achieve their aims of impacting positively on the people.
The State Chairman of the party, Mr. Oluwole Fagboro, in an interview with The Hope explained that the development would cause negative impacts in the political setting of the country and return democracy to the old era of imposing candidate on electorate by godfathers
His words ” The decision of INEC to deregister political parties has made Nigerians to be denied of their freedom of association to form political parties and let electorate to decide their (political parties ) fates.
With the decision, Fagboro posited that the development would give money bag politicians advantages to impose on Nigerians who will be their leaders.
“If the political parties like SDP , ZLP and ADC among others are not allowed to be registered how would they be able to win political seat.
“It is a pity that the PDM is among the deregistered political parties. PDM is a political party l so much like because of her manifesto and objectives a party that means well for Nigerians”.he lamented.
