Dead man found in sewage

Residents of Italugbogbo community in Ondo town, were in shock at the weekend, trying to unravel the cause of the death of a 44-year-old man, identified as Ore Kayode, whose lifeless body was found inside a sewage on a plot of land.
The Hope Metro reliably gathered that the lifeless body of the middle-aged man, Kayode, identified as a popular thug terrorising the community was found in a sewage at zone 7, Victoria land, Italugbogbo community in Ondo town, in Ondo West local government area of Ondo State .
Mr Oluwadare Ogunlade, who owns the land where the corpse was found said he discovered the body on Thursday at about 3.pm.
Ogunlade was said to have headed straight to the nearby police station to report the case.
He reportedly informed police detectives that he visited his new site and discovered that his workers at the site had deserted the area.
According to him, ” I enquired from the people around, and they told me that some group of thugs came to the site and started fighting.
“When they were leaving the site, one of the thugs who had been extorting money from me called me on phone and informed me that they lad left my site, but one of them was missing.
“He said they had called his number severally without response.”
Ogunlade stated that when he went back to the site and discovered the lifeless body was inside the soak-away, he called on the police immediately.
It was also learnt that the police visited the scene and evacuated the lifeless body of the deceased, which was later identified as Ore Kayode, one of the thugs who had been terrorising the community.
A police source in Akure who confirmed the incident to The Hope Metro, said,” the body was seen without any external injury on the body.
“The corpse was evacuated to the mortuary for autopsy, while investigation is ongoing.”
