Deji now Chairman, Ondo Council of Obas

Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu yesterday approved the appointment of Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi as the Chairman, Ondo State Council of Obas.
Oba Aladelusi’s appointment follows the expiration of the two-year single tenure of the immediate past Chairman of the council, Oba (Dr.) Fredrick Eniolorunda Obateru Akinruntan, Olugbo of Ugbo, who was appointed on September 13, 2019.
The tenure of the new Chairman started yesterday Tuesday, September 14, 2021.
A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Richard Olatunde, said Governor Akeredolu appreciated the Council under the leadership of the erstwhile Chairman, the Olugbo of Ugbo, who did excellently well and gave all necessary support to ensure that the good people of Ondo State enjoy good governance.
The Governor urged the new chairman to improve on the record of his predecessor by working in harmony with his brother Obas and the government in ensuring the development of the state.
Meanwhile, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi has promised to reinvigorate the traditional institution in the state to make it responsible to the yearnings of the people.
According to a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Deji, Michael Adeyeye, Oba Aladetoyinbo thanked Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for his appointment as well as solicited the support of other traditional rulers in the state.
