Otunba Sunday Dele-Ajayi has been re-elected as the Chairman of the Ondo State Football Association (FA).
The incumbent defeated his closest rival, Otunba Dele Ologbese, by 12 votes to 9 in a keenly contested election held at the Police Officers’ Mess in Akure, the state capital.
A total of 22 delegates voted, with Otunba Dele-Ajayi polling 12 votes, Otunba Dele Ologbese securing 9 votes, while one vote was voided.

Coach Oladimeji Abimbola also emerged as the Vice Chairman.
Ajayi, while speaking with newsmen after the election, assured that the state FA under his leadership would focus more on football marketing and development.
While commending the peaceful conduct of the exercise, Ajayi promised to collaborate with all stakeholders for the progress of the round leather game.
He urged all members of the association to familiarise themselves with the relevant provisions of the FA statute.
The representative of the Nigeria Football Federation, Mr Oluwole Oloworemo, commended the electoral body for a job well done.
Oloworemo later appreciated the runner-up, Otunba Dele Ologbese, for his spirit of sportsmanship after the election by embracing the winner of the process.
The Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Barr. Olusola Oke, who noted that the election was particularly challenging, appreciated the aspirants and delegates for their cooperation.
Oke, however, charged them to represent the state well at both the local and national levels.
“The task was challenging, but at the same time quite exciting. In summary, it was a success, so in the interest of football in Ondo State, they should give us a good representation,” he said.
