After weeks of hostilities in the Destination Ondo Inter street Football competition, Okedasa street has been crowned as Champions of the third edition of the tourney and were presented with a cheque of N500,000.

The first runners-up, New Town and third winner, Odosida both went home with cheques of N300,000 and N200,000 respectively.

The final match between Okedasa and Newton played at Adeyemi College Sports complex had ended in a goalless draw, before Okedasa later defeated their opponent 4-3 in a penalty shootout.

Presenting the cheques to the winners, the sponsor, Otunba Wanle Akinboboye represented by the president of Ondo Ekimogun Youth Congress, Kayode Folajogun  congratulated them for their display of football artistries to the admiration of the spectators.

Akinboboye added that the fourth edition of the competition will be improved, saying the street competition has become a yearly event.

While speaking, the chairman of football Association (FA) in Ondo West, Bobola Akinfolarin commended all the participants for adhering to the rules and regulations of the competition.

He disclosed that the major concept of the competition was to discover budding talents.

According to him, some outstanding players have been penciled down, adding that in the next few days, the next line of action will be made known to them.

According to him; “All the participants are winners, no loser among us, I implore you all to start preparation earlier for the fourth edition which will be more bigger than this.

“I thank the sponsor for his love and vision for the development of football in our local government.”, he stated.
