Develop Ondo with your talents, Agagu urges youths

Youths in Ondo State have been advised to use their talents to galvanise, mobilize and develop the state.
The Commissioner for Education Science and Technology, Mr Femi Agagu stated this while playing host to Principal officers of Ondo State Youths in parliament in his office.
Agagu who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Rev. Akin Asaniyan (FPA) said the state needed more people in technology oriented courses than in the humanities
While pledging the supports of the ministry to the parliamentarians on youth development, he tasked them to engage in inventions especially in the critical areas of technology that will lead to economic advancement of the state.
Earlier the speaker of the youth parliament Rt. Hon. Smith Ikumapayi representing Akoko south west constituency 1 and Hon. Joseph Akinkuotu representing Ondo West Constituency I had intimated the commissioner with a brief history of the youth in parliament in Nigeria.
According to them, former Nigeria President Alhaji Musa Yar’ Adua had in 2009 approved the composition of the youth in parliament in Nigeria which had also been replicated in all the states of the federation.
They said the 26member youth in parliament in Ondo state who were in second parliamentary session were selected by the ministry of youth and sports from the state 26 House of Assembly member constituencies with the responsibilities of ensuring community mobilization, participatory democracy and capacity building of the youths for self reliance
The youth parliamentarians used the forum to solicit for the cooperation of the ministry and collaborations to ensure youth development in the state.
Other youth parliamentary principal officers at the courtesy visit were Hon. Adeola Kemi Deputy speaker, representing Okitipupa 2, Hon. Ayodele Oladimeji majority leader, Owo constituency1, Hon. Jonathan Obanla, parliamentary secretary, Odigbo I, others are Hon. Adenike Adewale Akoko North west 1and Hon. Ige Ebiwonjumi chief whip from Ilaje constituency 1.
