Devt: Ondo’s First Lady seeks market women’s support

The wife of Ondo State Governor, Arabinrin Betty Anyanwu -Akeredolu has urged market women across the state to support the present administration in order to move the state forward.
She made this appeal in a meeting tagged Special Interactive Session of Mrs Akeredolu with Ondo Central Senatorial District of Iyalajes /Iyalojas, held at the Babafunke Ajasin Auditorium in Akure.
The meeting was held to enable the traders express their minds regarding the activities of the present administration and suggest way forward.
Mrs Akeredolu who was represented by Senior Special Assistant to Ondo State Governor on Women Affairs, Mrs Titi Adeyemi appealed to the women to play their roles in moving the state forward even as she assured them of the readiness of the state government to do the needful.
The facilitator of the programme, Chief Arogunjo Adewumi explained that the meeting became imperative for the state government to pay attention to issues bothering them, so as to affect the lives of the citizens positively.
In her contribution, President Iyalaje of Ondo State, Chief (Mrs) Iwalola Adefenwa thanked Mrs Akeredolu for putting together such a forum which enable them to bear out their minds in order to move the State forward.
Chief Mrs Adefenwa appealed to the State government to provide bus for each local government to ease their mobility adding “Aside provision of buses, we need Iyalajes/Iyalojas office in Akure, we need monthly salaries, slot for pilrimage and provision of jobs for our children among others. “
One of the market women, Iyaloja Akure North, Chief (Mrs) Bosede Abidakun while commending the effort of Arabinrin Akeredolu so far charged the state government to look into the area of improving market women’s lives through provision of bus to each local government, providing foodstuffs to market women during festive season, giving them monthly salary, providing jobs for their jobless children, helping them financially to go for yearly pilgrimage among others.
