The Permanent Secretary of the Osun State Ministry of Education, Mr Murtala Jimoh, has said that discipline and improved curriculum will top the Osun Education Summit agenda.
Jimoh, who made this known yesterday, added that the ‘mother tongue’ is also being considered for teaching, clarifying that the English language will not be scrapped.
He said the Osun state government would recruit teachers, but the ongoing staff audit would give a clear direction regarding the number of existing vacancies.
The Permanent Secretary assured that the State Government would effect the decisions and recommendations of the ongoing Education Summit to the letter.
He said, “I can assure you that all the summit recommendations will be implemented as long as they will improve the State’s education sector and help our students perform better in external examinations and improve our ratings.
“The education summit will attempt to solve many problems affecting the education sector in Osun State,” he stated.
