‘DJ is my calling’

An upcoming Nigerian DJ, Akinlade Tunde better known by his stage name as DJ T Max has said that his passion for DJ would not allow him to abandon the job.

DJ T Max spoke with Friday Extravaganza about his love for music and how he fell in love with the art of disc jockey.

A final year student of Economic Department from Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo also revealed his frustrations about being a DJ in Nigeria.

However, he  boasted that his creative instinct has continuously distinguished him in the industry, saying that he would continuously try his best to make his fans proud of him.

DJ T Max noted that DJ work is a calling from God, saying he did not learn the job from anybody, and he built himself to become a professional on the job.

The artiste who hails from Abeokuta in Ogun State  has been djing professionally for six years said that he want to make money and as well to become great artiste in the world.

“I love the job and I have passion for it and I believe I am going higher being a DJ.

“After my secondary school, I developed more affection and love for music, back then I listened to radio. That was how my passion for deejaying was birthed.

“When I first play in 2012, in a birthday party I knew nothing then, and after the birthday party another person collected my number that I would play at his birthday party, that was how I started.

 “I started with computer because I don’t have money to buy turn table when I started then, but when I worked harder I was able to buy my turn table with the help of God.

“When I first performed on stage, I thought I won’t be able to do it, because I was afraid of facing crowd, but I put courage and I did well at the end of the day.

“Today with the help of God, I have worked in different occasions, clubs, parties to mention but few.

“I faced a lot of discourage but I keep focused because I still have a long way ahead of me” he explained.

He stated that some days he would go to show and his laptop would not working perfectly and some other time it maybe his sound system.

He urged upcoming artistes to keep on giving their best and should not be discouraged.
