In order to rid Ondo state of kidnappers and ritualists, community leaders must be proactive and  fish out the perpetrators through traditional means.

This was the submission of a public commentator, Professor Olu Aboluwoye while speaking with The Hope on kiddnapping.

According to him, the population of the state is about five million while those perpetrating the evil acts cannot be up to 50,000, noting that security agents and the community cannot claim inability to identify the evil doers.

“All these kidnappers, are they goat? We know all of them except we are deceiving ourselves, the community must be proactive to fish them out.

“All the people that have been arrested for kidnappings, look at their handsets, look at the numbers on their list and fish them out, identify all their characters, they are not spirits, some people are benefiting from the criminal act, that is why the whole thing is like that.

He added, “Our governor has to adopt what is being adopted in Imo state, the government and the traditional rulers should adopt traditional methods of fishing out people, we are tired of Christianity and Islam, are we saying we don’t know the herbalists helping the ritualists?

“If I am the governor of this state, I will declare a state of emergency and I will kill all of them , we use the criminal method to fish out the criminal, in Iran can you do it? Or are the security agents saying they don’t know them?” , He said.

He therefore commended the decision of the government to place a ban on the activities of okada riders beyond 10.00pm.
