Don’t abuse opportunity given you, principals charged

Ondo State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr Femi Agagu has advised Public School principals in the state not to abuse the opportunity given them on the collectibles in schools.
He gave the advice during a meeting with members of All Nigeria Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools in the state held at Aquinas College Akure.
He said the meeting was a quarterly one to find out what is going on the schools and how to find lasting solutions to them.
Agagu who said the meetings have been yielding result, posited that it is very important to have such meetings so as to bring sanity to the sector.
He also called on them to make use of the land in their schools and also get the survey of the land to wade off encroachers from taking the schools land.
Earlier, the Senior Adviser to the Governor on Education, Dr Ilawole said the way they handled their schools will show in the result of the student therefore the need for them to be up and doing.
According to her, “the outcome of the school should be your concern as you are the head in your schools, the determinant factor, the result of your students in SSS 3 determines how efficient you are”
She also called on them to be digitally literate as they are in the world of digital, not necessarily the core one but with their phone they can do a lot, saying learning is a continuous process as there are new things to learn.
Principals, vice principals from across the state was at the meeting.
