Don’t let Nigeria down, NYSC coordinator urges corps members

By Sulyman Pakoyi

The State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps in Ondo State, Mrs. Kuburat Omowumi Bakare, has charged corps members not to let Nigeria down and dedicate themselves to nation-building.

She made this known during her farewell remarks to the 2025 Batch ‘A’ (Stream 1) corps members deployed to the  State and their counterparts dislodged from Lagos State.

Speaking during the closing ceremony of the three-week orientation course at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ikare-Akoko, Bakare admonished corps members to invest their youthful energy into the development and transformation of the rural communities through developmental projects that serve the needs of their host community.

Bakare reminded them to imbibe and internalise the lessons learnt during the orientation course e and use them as guiding principles throughout the service year and beyond.

The NYSC Ondo State boss reassured the corps members that Ondo and Lagos states remained safe irrespective of political, ethnic or religious affiliation, and that  the government will continue to ensure protection of lives and property in both states.

She encouraged corps members to seek permission from the relevant authorities before embarking on any journey and to avoid night travel.

On the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme, the Scheme’s helmsman in the Sunshine State enjoined the  participants to acquire at least one life skill before the end of the service year, thus contributing to the socio-economic development of Ondo and Lagos states, respectively.
