Adeboboye added that they have been nursing the club like a baby since it was established in 1995 by military Administration Led by Hammed Usman.

He said: “Sunshine Stars is our baby, and it was established by military Administration, it won’t be a good thing for the club to be sold by civilian government.”

“We have said it before, when we heard the rumour of the selling of the team and we still reiterating it that government should not sell the club. Sunshine Stars remain source of happiness to many people in the state , selling it would be tantamount to taking some people’s joy away from them.

“We are not averse to partnership arrangement , but we are totally against selling off”.

The chairman promised to take the supporters club to next level with new ideas, saying with the support of his executives they are going to build good relationship with the management of the clubs for a better performance this season.

“We are stakeholders as far as Sunshine Stars/Queens are concerned, we will not allow the clubs to be sold, lots of management have come and gone but we remain since the formation of the clubs.”

The immediate past chairman of the supporters club, Felix Olowa while handing over the constitution of the association to the executives urged them not to deviate from the tenet of the constitution.

Olowa said they are not against the idea of partnership with interested organization to relive the government financially, but we are not in support of the outright selling off .

According to another former Chairman of the association, Oduyi Emmanuel, “I thank God because selling off Sunshine Stars will not be successful, people will not be happy about the development.”

The General Manager of the state sports council, Mr Henry Babatunde while congratulating the new executive, he urged them to have a large heart that will accommodate everyone including those that contested against them.

He said the supporters club should not hesitate to call on the council whenever the council’s support is needed.
