The First Lady of Ekiti State, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, has lauded the Otunba Femi Alabi Foundation for its commitment to educational development and for giving back to its founder’s alma mater, Baptist Comprehensive High School, Ado-Ekiti.

Represented by Mr. Ifeoluwa Omotosho at the Educational Empowerment Programme organised by the foundation, Dr. Oyebanji described the initiative as a shining example of leadership rooted in gratitude and compassion.

She noted that the gesture aligns with the Governor Biodun Oyebanji Administration’s strategic focus on strengthening the education sector as a pathway to sustainable development.

The First Lady emphasised that education remains one of the most powerful tools for personal growth and societal progress. She expressed satisfaction that individuals and organisations like the Otunba Femi Alabi Foundation are complementing government efforts to uplift the younger generation.

She reaffirmed her commitment to youth empowerment through initiatives such as the BAORESS Interface with Adolescents, Back-to-School Programme, and scholarships for young learners across various levels.

Addressing the students, Dr. Oyebanji encouraged them to take their studies seriously, uphold discipline, and strive for excellence, stressing that their future success depends on the choices they make today.

In her welcome remarks, the Principal of the school, Mrs.Funmilayo Ibitoye, appreciated the First Lady and Governor Biodun Oyebanji for their consistent support for educational advancement in the state.

While describing Dr. Oyebanji as a worthy ambassador of the institution ,Mrs. Ibitoye commended the foundation for selecting the school for the empowerment programme.

Founder of the foundation and alumnus of the school, Otunba Femi Alabi, expressed gratitude to the First Lady for her dedication to education and child development.

He urged students to remain focused, acquire useful skills, and steer clear of negative influences such as drug abuse.

Alabi also encouraged them to, in future, give back to their school and society in appreciation of the foundation laid for them.

Earlier in Osi-Ekiti, students and pupils of public schools of Ido-Osi Local Government also benefited from Otunba Femi Alabi Foundation

Also speaking at the event, His Royal Majesty, Oba, Stephen Alabi, The Olosi of Osi-Ekiti appreciated Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his inclusive governance and assured him of his community’s continued support in the coming election.

While appreciating Otunba Femi Alabi for his continued support for Ido Osi Local Government, Oba Alabi prayed for continuous blessings and urged other sons and daughters of Ido Osi to emulate his good work.

The Head Girl, Tantorun Adebimpe, speaking on behalf of the students, thanked the foundation for its support, noting that the gesture would inspire them to work harder and aim higher.
