Driver arrested for threatening to kill colleague with dane gun in Odigbo

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC), Ondo State command has arrested a middle-aged driver for allegedly threatening to kill his friend with a dane gun.
The incident happened during the weekend at Temidayo community, Igburowo Odigbo Local Government area of the state.
The victim whose name was identified as Richard Ademoye, a father of four, had on several occasions threatened to commit suicide in the community after he had succeeded in killing someone.
According to an eyewitness in the community, who briefed our reporter, the victim in the company of other members of youths in the community had gathered under a tree located at the central of the community.
An argument was said to have ensued while analysing a political issue in the country, the suspect who appeared to have drunk rushed back home and came back with a loaded dane gun and threatened to kill his friend.
The development later resulted to a pandemonium as residents scampered for safety, the situation which prompted the traditional ruler of the community to invite the officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) Ore division who later arrested the man and handed him over to the police.
Speaking on the matter, a resident of the community who gave his name as Joseph Akanbi, said the suspect had earlier boasted of killing his friend with a dane gun.
He urged the police to conduct proper investigations on the matter, claiming that the suspect, a perpetual drunker had on several occasions threatened to kill anybody who may challenge his authority in the community.
Confirming the incident, a senior officer at the Ore Division of the NSCDC said though he was not authorized to speak on the matter, the suspects had been arrested and detained by the police.
He explained that investigations have begun on the matter, while efforts were being intensified to unravel the circumstances that prompted the suspects to commit such a crime.
