A 31-year-old commercial driver, Hassan Saka is now singing like a kennery for being in possession of two human heads.
Saka, a driver from Lokoja, Kogi State was arrested by men of the NDLEA with the exhibits along Owo-Akure roads, Ondo State.
He told the NDLEA men that he was merely asked to deliver the exhibits packed in a carton to an unnamed person in Akure, Ondo State.
According to him, “ merely agreeing to pick the carton for a fee to be delivered to the owner in Akure with his phone number written on the carton I don’t know anything about the exhibits.
“The carton was given to me in Lokoja and I had no time to check the content because the park was too busy.
“On getting to the Owo checking point, men of the NDLEA asked me to open the carton which I did enthusiastically because I had no prior knowledge of the content and to my greatest surprise and shock, I saw two human heads of a male and female in the carton.
The Hope Metro learnt that the exhibits were tucked in the trunk of an ash color Nissan Sunny car with number plate Kogi LKJ 135 BF, concealed in a brown carton.
The state Commander, Mr. Haruma Gagara, however advised those who indulge in such crime to desist from doing so, because when apprehended they will face the consequences of their actions.
The state Commander of NDLEA, Haruna Gagara said the suspect will be handed over to the police.
The State Police Public Relations Officer DSP Tee-Leo Ikoro said the investigation is ongoing, adding that the suspect would soon be prosecuted.
