Pandemonium broke out in the late hours of Wednesday in Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government area of Ondo State, following a clash between some soldiers and tanker drivers.
The incident which happened at Iroju Area in Ore had caused panic amidst residents of the community.
An eyewitness who spoke with our correspondent narrated that the incident happened when a tanker driver stationed along the route, and was collecting money from all drivers for the road was under maintenance.
“It happened that one of the tanker drivers suddenly stopped a soldier who was not in uniform and requested money from him which he ignored. This angered the tanker driver and he started fighting with the soldier.
“However, the soldier did not fight back. Instead, he puts a call across to his colleagues.
“Before we knew it, they stormed the area in search of the said tanker driver which led to chaos.’’
Our correspondent who visited the scene , further gathered that a man in black top was later apprehended by the soldiers and taken to their checking point at Olowo Area in Ore.
