Tragedy struck at Odigbo Local Government area of Ondo State on Saturday as a car rammed into a motor park and killed a teenager, identified as Bassey Edet.

Hope Metro gathered that the victim was selling puff-puff and buns at the park before the unfortunate incident happened.

Eyewitness said that the yet-to-be identified driver was allegedly drunk while driving.

They said Edet died on the spot.

The accident involved a Toyota Picnic with number plate EPE 576DC.

The accident which happened along the ever busy Odigbo –Ore road caused mourning for the foster parents of the
teenager and people around the area.

Eyewitnesses who spoke with our correspondent said the driver of the Toyota Picnic was drunk while driving.

“The driver drove on top speed and rammed into a garage and killed a teenager, identified as Bassey Edet

Efforts to reach the Unit commander in Ore for reaction proved abortive as at the time of filing this report.

The presence of security agents at the scene calmed the situation in order not to escalate into another scenario.

The driver of the vehicle has been arrested by the police, while the damaged vehicle and motorcycle were towed to Odigbo Police station.

The remains of the teenager has been deposited at the morgue in Ore.
