The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has enjoined the people of the state not to waver in their hopes for better days ahead in the face of prevailing challenges, describing Easter as a momentous reminder that tribulation is a temporary condition that will give way to everlasting relief.

The governor stated this in his Easter message to the people of the state through a statement made available to newsmen in Osogbo on Sunday by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed.

Adeleke, who recognised the spiritual bearing of Easter—particularly the power of hope and the promise of new possibilities for humanity—congratulated Christians in the state and beyond for the festive period, which is the very foundation of their faith.

He underscored the message of sacrifice that the story of Easter conveys as a challenge we must all accept in the shared hope for a better tomorrow. He called for a renewed commitment to work for enduring unity, sustained peace, and a society that meets the aspirations of all.

“For Christians, Easter is a solemn reminder of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and the redemption it offers to humanity. In a rare display of love for mankind, Jesus Christ willingly endured excruciating pain and humiliation, and surrendered His life on the cross to wash away the sins of mankind and give hope of eternal life,” Governor Adeleke noted in his message.

“While this moment calls for celebration, it is also a time of sober reflection on the spiritual significance of the season and a reminder that light will always prevail over darkness.” he said

Adeleke reiterated his administration’s commitment to reviving the hopes of the people through service delivery that addresses their needs, saying, “We will never waver in improving the situation of the people, upholding their rights to impactful governance, and making resources count for their benefit.”

He asked Christian faithful to use the occasion to seek the face of Almighty God for the continued progress of Osun State, noting that “our administration remains a beacon of progress, hope, and sustainable development for the entire state, and we are very confident of meeting not just the aspirations of our people today, but also those of the future.”

“Just as this season birthed the dawn of new possibilities, I assure the people of Osun State of my unfailing commitment to meet their hopes with deserved service delivery, fixing past disappointments with convincing zeal for a better turnaround. No amount of attempt to distract us will succeed, as we won’t rest until a better Osun is achieved.”
