Easter: Ondo Amotekun deploys 1,000 officers

Commander of the Ondo State Security Network Agency codenamed Amotekun, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye said it has deployed 1000 officers and men to beef up security in the state during the Easter celebration period.

Adeleye made this known at the Command’s headquarters while addressing newsmen in Akure, the Ondo state capital.

Akogun Adeleye who is also the Special Adviser to Ondo State Governor on Security Matters, said he has ordered the deployment of 1000 personnel from its offices across the state to beef up security, ahead of the Easter celebration.

“The move is to counter any atrocious activity of dangerous elements planning to cause breakdown of law and order during the Easter celebration.

Adeleye noted “As the Easter celebration approaches, we have deployed 1000 of our officers and men to go all out to protect lives and property of citizens in the state.

“They must look out for criminals, hoodlums and mischief makers seeking to compromise the integrity of the State and country and deal decisively with them.”

“The corps have mobilized their officers and men in the 18 local government areas and the state capital to commence 24 hours patrol from now, yesterday to Monday to ensure that the festivity goes on without any hitch.

“We want to reassure the good people of Ondo state that they should go about their holiday without fear.

“Our men have been drafted to boarder towns to ensure that miscreants do not take advantage of this holiday to harass people,” he stated.
