As Christians commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on the faithful to exemplify the virtues of love, forgiveness and compassion in their everyday lives.

In a goodwill message to mark Easter, the State Chairman of the APC, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, urged Christians to draw inspiration from the life and teachings of Christ by embracing peace and extending kindness to all, irrespective of class, creed or background.

Adetimehin lauded the steadfastness, resilience, and unwavering commitment of Christians to the upliftment of humanity, noting that the Easter period offers a divine opportunity to demonstrate selflessness and empathy in a fractured world.

He said, “Easter is not just a celebration of Christ’s resurrection, but a call to live like Him, showing unconditional love, forgiving those who wrong us, and living in peace with our neighbours.”

The APC chieftain expressed optimism that the spirit of the season would inspire deeper unity and cooperation among Nigerians, especially across religious, ethnic and political divides.

While appreciating the consistent support of the Christian community for the APC in Ondo State, Adetimehin appealed for sustained collaboration in the drive to achieve meaningful development in the Sunshine State.

He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to inclusive governance, adding that, “The 2025 budget speaks for itself, it is structured to ensure even development across all parts of the state without any form of discrimination.”

Adetimehin also urged well-meaning citizens to show compassion to the less privileged through acts of charity, describing collective responsibility as the foundation of a peaceful and prosperous society.

He added, “We must defend and support our government, our state and our party. With unity and peace, we can go far as a people.”

The party, while felicitating Christians, wished them a joyful and spiritually fulfilling Easter celebration.
