Edo 2020: Ondo Handball a team to beat – Head Coach

Ondo State Handball Head Coach, Tommy Olalude has assured the state that his boys will go for Gold at the National Sports Festival tagged Edo 2020.
Olalude in a chat with Sporting Hope in Akure, said the State Handball are team to beat at the national fiesta slated for Edo State next month.
The National Welfare Director of Nigeria Handball coaches association added that his players are in high spirit for glory.
He revealed that they have resumed training since government lifted ban on a contact games saying he is optimistic the state team will have a good show at Festival.
He explained that Handball has always been making the state proud at every competition ,adding that they won Bronze Medals for the state in both male and female categories in Lagos 2012, while they also won Silver in Kaduna and Port Harcourt in male category.
“We couldn’t participated in Abuja 2018 due to the measures by the organisers that reduced the number of games which affected us”.
He said; “beyond National Festival, Ondo State Handball won Bronze medal in West African Super Cup, we also won Gold in both male and female categories at the South West Under -17.”
“We have being to Europe to represent the state at the at junior category under 13/14 and 15 in which we flied the country flag high”.
According to him, “the state has discovered and developed National and International stars, our own Ola Ademodugbe is the current Handball national goal keeper, plies his trade in Quata ,two others are in under 21 national team.”
