Educate people more on sports dev’t -OSSC GM

The General Manager Ondo state sports council, Mr Wande Fabuluje has challenged members of the sports writers association of Nigeria to use their office in educating stakeholders of the need to embrace and develop sports in the country.

Chief Fabuluje gave the challenge when he hosted the newly inaugurated members of the association in his office.

The general manager, who appreciated the courtesy visit lamented the inability of some parents who are found of discouraging their kids from participating in sports, urging parent to encourage and make their kids available for training especially during holidays ahead of upcoming national competitions such as the youth festival and national sports festival.

He further seeks the continual collaboration between SWAN and the state sports council in publicising the various activities of the council and its twenty two sports.

Responding, Chairman of SWAN Ondo state chapter, Mr Wahab Bankole lauded the numerous successes recorded by Mr Fabuluje led board which included the great feat of the hockey, Handball and Badminton not leaving out the inclusion of three Ondo state volleyball players in the national team.

Mr Bankole assured of adequate and objective publicity of the council’s activities and called for more synergy for the overall sports development especially in Ondo state.

In his remarks, a sports administrator and former state chairman Wrestling Association of Nigeria Mr Sylvester Ikuejamoye advised SWAN on the promotion of more local sports especially in the nooks and crannies of the state.

Among those who were present, the head of coaches in the Ondo state sports council, Pastor Joseph Fagite, and members of the Ondo state sports council and SWAN executive members.
