Education Levy: Agagu commends turnout

The Ondo State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Pastor Femi Agagu has expressed satisfaction with the level of success recorded in the newly lunched Ondo Education Levy.

Commenting on the  success recorded so far, pastor Agagu said, “the turn out till now is highly commendable.

“This is a new initiative and it is not unlikely that we experience a few set-back in the meantime but we are making tremendous progress and the turn out has been very encouraging.

“In days and weeks to come, we will increase the publicity of this initiative and we are confident that more persons will key into it.

“This is purely voluntary and we will not compel or coarse anyone to be part of it. The government also have no plan to deduct from workers’ salary for this purpose.

Also commenting on the resumption of academic activities across public schools in the state, Agagu said Ondo state has always been a pacesetter in all spheres including the education sector.

Pastor Agagu alongside the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Folashade Adegoke, Director, Inspectorate and Quality Assurance; Pastor Olabanji Ogundele and some other officials of the Ministry yesterday  monitored exercise across secondary schools within the state capital.

Agagu said: “The turnout of students across the various schools visited is highly encouraging and a testament to the fact that students and teachers  are committed to education.

“Regardless of the fact that today is the first day of resumption, all the workers are readily available at their duty posts. This is highly commendable, he added.”
