Effective synergy ‘ll stamp out crimes Ondo PPRO

Ensuring effective security in the land is for everybody to join hands on issues bordering on safety of lives and property and also ensure that peace is sustained.

This was the submission of the newly appointed Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Tee Leo Ikoro, while speaking with The Hope Metro in an interview, shortly after taking over from his predecessor, CSP Femi Joseph in a brief ceremony that took place at the police headquarters along Igbatoro road in Akure, the state capital.

Ikoro stated that security business must not be left in the hands of the security agencies alone, saying the job of crime detection, prevention and control is the business of all and sundry.

According to him, effective synergy among the police, host communities and the general public will go a long way in solving all forms of crimes and criminality in the society.

 The police spokesman, while stressing that there could not be any meaningful development in an atmosphere of threat to lives, hinted that his mission and vision is to  have a robust relationship with journalists in the state and bridge the gap between the police and the general public .

He said that effective security is paramount to development and as such, all hands must be on deck to tackle crime and bring it to the barest minimum .

He promised to operate an open door policy where members of the public would easily have access to his office for any personal or official matter bordering on safety of lives, just as he urged law-abiding citizens to cultivate the habit of giving out useful information that would help solve crime-related issues in the state.

His words, “I promise a roubust relationship between my office and the media in the state because I believe effective partnership will help me in succeeding as the state PPRO.

ASP Ikoro, who until his appointment, was working at the Force Public Relations Department, Police High Command in Abuja, said he was the Editor of the Dawn Newspaper (a police newspaper published in Abuja.

A graduate of Mass Communication from the Lagos State University, Ikoro has served in various capacities in Mobile Police Force in Lagos (Mopol 20 and 22 squadrons respectively ).

He had worked as Personal Assistant to many Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGs), Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) and some Commissioners of Police (CPs) in various states across the federation.
