Eid-el-Fitr: Prioritize security, economy, Yayi-Akorede tasks Tinubu

The Chief Imam of Akure Kingdom, Alhaji Abdulhakeem Yayi-Akorede has implored the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, to prioritize the country’s security and economy when sworn in as the president on May 29.

Yayi-Akorede gave the advice at Akure praying ground to mark this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

He said all possible means to track down any form of insecurity and improve the economy of the country should be Tinubu’s focus for a better Nigeria.

The cleric said Nigeria is one indivisible entity that every citizen should support to sustain its unity.

The two major issues among others, according to him, should not be handled with levity if Nigeria would compete favourably with international community.

The cleric called on Nigerians to give the President-elect maximum support to fulfil all developmental projects he had pledged during his electioneering campaign.

While congratulating Tinubu for his victory in the just concluded general elections, Yayi-Akorede wished the outgoing President, Muhammadu Buhari successful handing over come May 29.

Speaking on the Eid-el-Fitr celebration, the cleric reminded Muslim faithful of the fear of Allah which forms the basis of the festival.

He stressed that the teachings of ramadan on how to be good ambassador to the society should be their watchwords.

He informed them to always remember Allah and not go back to sins after the ramadan.

“Muslims and all Nigerians should give room for peace and unity now that new a President and political office holders will be sworn in on May 29.”

Also in his sallah message, the Chief Imam of Oda Town, Alfa Musa Bolarinwa said ramadan is observed to make us closer to Allah for the benefits therein.

He charged all Muslims that observed the ramadan not to go back to their vomit after fasting.

Bolarinwa enjoined muslim faithful and Nigerians to continue praying for the sustainability of unity and for the incoming president to perform well.

He noted that it is only the unity of the country and determination of everyone to support the present government that can make the country move forward.
