Eid-el-Kabir: Ondo Police assures residents of water-tight security

AS Muslims prepare to mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the Ondo State Police Command has pledged to provide watertight security across the state to ensure a hitch-free and peaceful festival.

The Command, in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, and made available to Weekend Hope, reaffirmed its readiness to safeguard lives and property during and after the religious event.

According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police, Wilfred Adetokunbo, has directed the strategic deployment of police operatives to Eid praying grounds, recreation centres, markets, highways and other critical public infrastructure.

It noted that tactical squads, detectives, and intelligence officers have been mobilised to ensure swift responses to any security breaches and maintain high-level surveillance throughout the period.

In furtherance of this effort, the CP has also instructed all Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to intensify patrols, increase police visibility, and provide round-the-clock coverage throughout the Sallah celebration.

The Command also felicitated with the Muslim community, urging them to uphold the teachings and values of Eid-el-Kabir, including sacrifice, obedience and compassion.

While appealing to residents to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and to celebrate in moderation, the police warned that any individual or group caught attempting to breach public peace would be dealt with decisively.

The Command assured the people of its unwavering commitment to ensuring a secure environment for all during the festivities.
