Ekiti airport approval: Fasuan applauds Oyebanji’s leadership, vision
…Commends Gov’s tenacity in achieving feat
A retired Permanent Secretary and an elder statesman, Chief Deji Fasuan, has hailed the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority’s (NCAA) approval for the commencement of non-scheduled flights at the Ekiti State International Cargo Airport.
In an interview at his residence in Ado Ekiti, during the weekend, the Chairman of the Committee for the Creation of Ekiti State described the approval as a major milestone that will greatly enhance the economic prospects of the communities surrounding the airport.
The nonagenarian noted that it was thoughtful of the immediate past administration to conceive the airport project.
He also commended the present administration for adopting the initiative and building on it to achieve its current enviable status.
He particularly lauded the determination and tenacity of Governor Biodun Oyebanji in advancing the project from where his immediate predecessor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, had left off.
Chief Fasuan explained that the breakthrough recorded in the airport project is another gain for the people of Ekiti State, who have benefited from the continuity they endorsed at the last governorship election.
He said: “I congratulate Governor Oyebanji on securing the NCAA’s approval for the commencement of non-scheduled flights from December 15 at the Ekiti Airport.
“The advantages are enormous, not only for flight users but also for neighbouring towns and villages that have benefited from improved roads and other modern facilities.
” We hope that, in the next few months, the system will incorporate scheduled and regular flights.
“Today, some roads are springing up, connecting villages that were previously unconnected.
It is very thrilling that the present administration took up the project immediately and continued to build on the ideas, leading to this significant milestone.
“Congratulations to the present administration led by Governor Oyebanji and to the previous administration, particularly Dr Kayode Fayemi, the originator”, Chief Fasuan added.
