Ekiti APC threatens to expel candidate over attack on social media

Ahead of the primary election of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, slated to hold in February 22, 2022, the party in the state has threatened to expel any aspirant who engages in abusing words or any form of unwarranted discussion on social media.
The party also warned aspirants to caution their followers not to engage one another on the social media.
The chairman of the party in the state, Paul Omotosho, dropped the hint while welcoming the former Secretary to the State Government, Mr Biodun Oyebanji to the party secretariat from Abuja where he obtained his nominations.
Omotoso, assured that all the aspirants will be accommodated by party leaders, warning that any aspirant who attacked another will be disqualified from the contest.
Handing over the aspirant to the leadership of the party, the former Chairman of the party, Chief Jide Awe, said APC is reunited by resolving all its crises.
Awe, who led the party for over a decade, praised the APC for allowing Oyebanji the opportunity to contest , saying the people of Ekameta Local Council Development Authorities, where ex-SSG hails from under Ekiti West Local Government would eternally be grateful to the party for this love.
While addressing the party faithful, the former SSG, said : “I have respect for the party because it is the party that contests election. I won’t underrate the party that is why I am here to inform you about my aspiration. I thank you for giving a platform to Governor Fayemi, if not for that, I would not have become the SSG.
“I am assuring you that we will run issue based campaign. We have heritage of responsibile campaign as espoused by Governor Fayemi . We will be civil, and run campign devoid of crisis and violence. We are conscious of the fact that only one of us we emerge. We respect the right of every Ekiti indigene to contest, they all have the right. It is a matter of the more the merrier.
“Our government will sustain Fayemi’s legacy and expand prosperity for Ekiti people . Every Ekiti man, woman and child will proper under our government.
“Ekiti is 25 years, out of this, I have put 11 years as a public servant. Out of all the aspirants in APC, I am the most experienced to succeed Governor Fayemi.
