Five persons have been convicted by EKiti State Magistrate court, sitting in Ado Ekiti for dumping refuse on roads median along Adebayo, Ado Ekiti.
The environmental offenders, Olatoye Mercy, Ademi Adebayo, Kayode Omotoso, Ojo Eleruku and Babatunde Rufus were arrested by officials of the EKiti State Waste Management Authority.
The arrest was made during the weekly sanitation day for violating environmental rules and later arraigned in Court.
In his ruling, Magistrate Bankole Oluwasanmi sentenced the offenders to two months imprisonment with option of five thousand naira fine.
