As part of the Group Life Assurance and the IGP Kayode Egbetokun Family Welfare Schemes, the Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State, CP Joseph Eribo, has presented cheques amounting to twenty-three million, eight hundred and forty-nine thousand, five hundred and fifty-four naira (N23,849,554.24) to the families and next of kin of twenty-seven deceased and maimed officers of the Command.

In his address, CP Eribo sympathised with the beneficiaries who lost their loved ones in the line of duty, assuring them that the Nigeria Police Force under the leadership of IGP Egbetokun remains deeply committed to the welfare of officers and their families.

He emphasised that the Force would continue to evolve and revitalise welfare programmes aimed at supporting the families of fallen heroes and improving the working conditions of serving officers.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Sunday Abutu.

According to the statement, the CP urged the beneficiaries to make prudent use of the funds by investing in legitimate ventures and ensuring the upkeep of their families.

In their response, the beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Inspector General of Police for the gesture, saying the support would go a long way in easing their financial burdens. They also pledged to make judicious use of the money.

The presentation, which took place at the Commissioner’s office along Old Iyin Road, Ado-Ekiti, was witnessed by Deputy Commissioners of Police, Assistant Commissioners of Police, and other senior officers of the Command.
